1. There’s a forest to the west, across from a large grass field, about 4 miles away.
2. There’s also a trash and sewer pit directly south. It appears to be draining into the nearby water, which smells foul, like 100 dead bodies decaying in the sun
3. And finally, there’s the Orc/Human encampment surrounding you to the north and east. Maybe you can try to sneak through after dark

Decision

As the party decides, and the sun goes down, you start to regain some MEPs (Mana), but when the sun is near setting you look up due to a sudden, familiar smell. The blue fog is coming back and gently shows itself to be rolling in from the field as the setting sun settles behind it’s azure master and resigns itself to it’s blue-tinted fate. An image of the miasma of foul-leeching, gut-wrenching pain that seems to tug the very energy from theirs souls walks into the mind of every adventurer affected by it in the dungeon. Remembering that sensation, you only know that a choice now needs to be made.

As you leave the dungeon exit, do you risk the field and the forest with no magic, the potential disease from the trash and sewer pit, or try to sneak into the camp and find supplies, and maybe even your own gear?

The direction is imperative. Who knows if you’ll ever get to come this way again? You don’t even know what happened in the battle or where other imperial forces are. On one hand, the forest could be safe, or full of wonder, but you would have to sacrifice your magic to get there. And man and elf alike probably have no idea of the number of diseases in the sewer smelling trash pit. Lastly, the camp will certainly be very dangerous. Think carefully before you decide. Next game night is February 17th!

The party finds itself imprisoned in an unknown dungeon, and separated from each other. One character somehow manages to slip out of the cell. As (s)he looks down the corridor, they start to think about how they got into this mess in the first place.

As the saviors of the city of Mirage, naturally when trouble came to the town again, the lord of the town, Count Sven, called on the adventurers to help save the city. The party agreed to help and rode to battle with the armies of the king of Caledonia.

The armies of the empire of Baicosta have invaded Caledonia. Caledonian armies were called from all over the country. As the party rode out to the battle, they quickly dismounted and charged in on foot. Once they got close to the armies’ leader, they realized that a trap had been set for anyone foolish enough to come close and they were hit by lightening from the generals battle magi. As the thunderclap seared into the ears of everyone around, the party members each fell over in a slump. The party members met the inevitable darkness hurrying in on them as if the darkness was running from death itself and had chosen their own bodies to hide itself inside. The outside world faded from view, and then just a long sleep awaited them.

No time to think about what went wrong now though, it’s lucky this party member survived. And now it’s time to see if anyone else is alive, and then how to escape…

We are pleased to announce:

Fantasy Tomes closed beta play testing release. This release includes the Players Handbook along with the Skills and the complete basic player items. Play testing is by invitation only and has been slowed by COVID-19.

Work is continuing on our Monster Tome and information from the current Alpha release is available to our play testers.

Dice clatter on the table. The next plot point depends on the result of the 20-sided die. A low roll means victory, while a high roll could result in a large setback. No one, not even the GM controlling the tale, is aware of precisely how it’ll progress.

It has become a common sight over the years. People expressing their creativity with story telling and the addition of the randomness and excitement of a roll of the dice. And for decades, the games have slowly migrated from the shadows into the mainstream and the recognition and acceptance of role-playing games has exploded.

A new system based on skill rolls

Fantasy Tomes is a table-top gaming system built mainly on skills. It was built to address some of the shortcoming with existing commercial attribute based games. Skills add a new level of game-play for players that want to do more than just roll a d20 the entire time they play.

The game system is currently under development and is in alpha testing by a dedicated group of gamers and addresses a group of people world-wide which is growing very quickly.

D20 roll in reverse

In our system, we had to make the math easier for players because you have more rolls every turn. The easy way to do this was to change the way players roll the D20. A 1 is a critical hit, a 20 is a critical fail. And this is just the first change compared to most table-top RPG systems.
